How the program works

  1. 1

    Evaluation

Dr. Vo reviews your symptoms and does a physical exam, an EKG and blood work, usually including two morning testosterone levels, to confirm a diagnosis.

  2. 2

    Your prescription

If treatment is right for you, Dr. Vo sends a prescription to your pharmacy at your visit, enough to last until your next 3-month visit. You bring it to our office, where it's stored securely for your injections.

  3. 3

    Injections in our office

Injections are given in the clinic by our clinical staff, on the schedule Dr. Vo sets for you. Patients who have safely self-injected before may be approved by Dr. Vo for home injection.

  4. 4

    Labs, then your 3-month visit

Get your lab work done about 2 weeks before each 3-month visit. Dr. Vo reviews the results with you at the visit, adjusts your dose if needed, and sends your next prescription.

Good to know

  • This is a self-pay program. We don't bill insurance for it.
  • Visit fees are paid before your appointment is scheduled. Lab work is billed by the lab, and you buy the medication from your pharmacy.
  • Testosterone is prescribed only to treat a diagnosed deficiency, not for bodybuilding, athletic performance or anti-aging.
  • Keeping your 3-month visits and labs current is required to stay in the program.

Prescription and Refill Policy

Prescriptions are sent only at your in-office visits with Dr. Vo, with enough medication to last until your next 3-month visit. Refills are not called in between visits, including if you can't make your 3-month appointment. If you need to reschedule, please book the new visit right away; your next prescription is sent at that visit. Schedule your labs (about 2 weeks before) and your visit before your medication runs out.

Benefits and risks

For men with testosterone deficiency, treatment may help with symptoms like low energy and low sex drive. Results vary and aren't guaranteed. Testosterone also has risks, including effects on fertility, red blood cell count and the prostate. Dr. Vo will go over them with you before you start.
